Currently EfE is working with a broad spectrum of stakeholders that based on their diversity bring in a lot of different competences and cover strategic interest areas for the thematic programmes. These partners and allies include;
Ghana Education Service: This organisation is the policy implementing body of the Ministry of Education and Sports, Ibis EfE has collaborating relationships with two district directorates of GES and during 2006 this number might increase to four.
SHIFSD: This organisation is a refugee inspired, initiated and led organisation based in the Buduburam refugee camp intervening in integrated development programmes, the organisation has experiences in implementing adult education programmes for women in the refugee camp, Ibis partnership with SHIFSD is in the areas of HIV/AIDS, ALP and organisation development support.
CEB: This organisation has been set up with support of the UNHCR to be responsible for the delivery of quality education in the camp, that are also in-charge of logistical distribution to all schools in the camp and this puts them, in a good stead to be able to influence what goes on in the camp, even though t well explored due to some capacity challenges, under the next phase of the programme, Ibis will engage with CEB to support build their capacity of the core staff of the organisation as well as support in processes to highlight the role of CEB in education delivery in the camp.
NNED: NNNED is the northern Ghana contact for GNECC, a member of Global Campaign on education, Because of the peculiar challenges that Northern Ghana faces in education, NNED has been highlighting issues of specific concern to Northern Ghana for influencing at the national policy front, they are now central civil society partners for the Ministry of education especially during the annual education strategy review, as members of the Partners forum, they are availing the entire partners forum an opportunity to table issues of discussions of specific and general nature for redress at any of the levels in Ghana. the partnership has also been enhancing for Ibis because of the joint advocacy initiatives that we engage in for example, Global Action Week etc.
PAPADEV: Partners for Participatory development is a local based NGO set up to support the deprived Bole district by indigenes of the place. They have developed a good capacity in reproductive health as well as community based development approaches and they are currently in a partnership with Ibis to implement the complimentary education Programme, PAPADEV's presence and grassroots links especially to the Sawla/Tuna/Kalba district is also rewarding for the programme, it is hoped that under the next phase of the programme one of the key challenges of PAPADEV, Organisation Development, will be dealt with, Ibis will continue to explore the opportunity of a joint partnership with SNV to support in OD processes for PAPADEV.
NCCE: this is a constitutionally mandated organ to be responsible for civic education in the country, NCCE has offices in all the 10 regions as well as 110 of the 138 districts in Ghana, the staff have been good players in the current democratisation process in Ghana, the EfE is in partnership with NNCE to support to conduct a study and offer relevant support mechanism to enhance the access of girls in school.
