Ibis Organization Capacity Building Programme (OCB)

The overall objective of the OCB program is to influence and stimulate the further development of an active and vibrant civil society sector in Ghana, empowered to work and advocate for the needs of the poor men and women and to play an active part in the process of democratic change.

The program focuses its activities on those organizations that facilitate the development of the desired active and vibrant civil society, and by that to support the MDG’s ultimate aim of empowering the marginalized. These organizations often have good programs to deliver, but are constrained by difficulties in maintaining their focus, due to funding challenges; internal conflicts due to dis-empowering leadership approaches, bottlenecks due to poor organizational systems and structures and low impact due to disempowering approaches to the target groups.

The OCB program aims therefore at impacting on their effectiveness by providing support in the following areas: Strategy development; Leadership development; Facilitation approaches and Change management. To be sustainable in this work, the program impacts upon the inner values of individuals and the overall culture of these organizations. It touches the very heart of the people and the very core of the organizations that join in its programs.
